The word SAN is Japanese and has a double
meaning: It means both ‘three’ and is also a polite
phrase.
SAN is also the name of a trio from Denmark. The trio consists of three brilliant young musicians: Kristian Karottki
on drums, Kasper Tagel on bass and Christoffer Møller on piano.
The trio plays their own compositions, which spring from their backgrounds and their Danish musical heritage,
which
SAN very much acknowledges. Together they aim to find sincerity in music, where presence and lyricism are
key words.
The open trio format allows for maximal musical liberty for the individual musician. The music is alive with energy
and is characterized by its expressiveness that ranges from raw sounds to almost magical sound images with an
essence of peacefulness.
SAN comprises music, enjoying life and enjoying playing for others.
SAN is now releasing their first CD, which beside the trio itself features the internationally acclaimed, Danish
